My Improvisation drawings and paintings are raw, gestural, unabated renderings of what I have come to believe represent pre-conscious, deeply-anchored symbols or marks worthy of my focused attention and contemplation. These works were started while I was blindfolded - one strategy to reach a deeper level of “seeing.” I continue to find them both powerful and enigmatic as they seem to communicate an ongoing dynamic dialogue between the opposite yet complementary aspects of negative and positive energies - the explosive fusion of two cosmic forces.
